STAND TO is a support service dedicated to Derbyshire’s veteran community. Whether you were Regular or Reserve forces, served for 22 years or 2 days STAND TO are here to help. ​We cover the whole of Derbyshire.

Our dedicated, experienced and highly trained staff (most of whom have direct experience of the Armed Forces) have a particular awareness of the issues veterans and their families may experience. We acknowledge, understand and appreciate the sacrifices that ex-forces personnel and their families have made. We understand some of the challenges individuals may experience and the conflicts often faced when asking for support.

​We work closely with military and other organisations both nationally and locally to deliver a comprehensive service for those affected by alcohol misuse.

STAND TO Alcohol Service

Have you ever considered the impact of your drinking on your health, relationships and finances? Do you use alcohol to help you cope with stress or mental health issues?

STAND TO can provide access to DAAS in-house counselling team or refer you to veteran-specific mental health services.

STANDTOgether

STANDTOgether is a brand new project whose focus is to work along side mental health and Blue light services, addiction services and criminal justice to help embed prevention of  veteran suicide. We now have a dedicated veteran family mental health liaison worker who will reach out to affected veterans and family members.

If you are a family member that has been affected by the death by suicide of a loved one please get in touch.


Veteran Awareness Training – Hero to Zero

We offer veteran specific training to organisations and services throughout Derbyshire. What knowledge do you have of veterans and the potential issues they may present with? On the awareness training you will:

  • Be able to identify who a veteran is
  • Gain knowledge of military culture
  • Have a specific Armed Forces Champion
  • Learn the difference between ex-forces and a veteran
  • Understand what issues stop veterans accessing help
  • Destigmatising suicide
  • Find out what we can do to help them
  • And what veteran specific services are out there
