STDVCS has specific Veteran Awareness Training:
Many people, and some organisations are not aware of the huge sacrifices made by our veterans and the difficulties they can experience through the brave choice they make to serve our country.
Veterans can suffer from a range of problems, bought on by their time serving amongst other social, economic and relationship issues and their transition back into civilian life.

Over 60% of veterans suffer from some form of mental health issues, and alcohol issues are common within the veteran community. This is why as a business, as an employer, or a health and social care worker, you can help make a difference by identifying veterans in your work force and ensuring that they get the help and support they need.
You may be a concerned family member of a veteran, a medical professional or work in emergency services. Whatever your role, you probably will come into contact with veterans. Our training will help you respond appropriately and offer signposting, or referral to specialised veteran specific agencies and learn more about how STAND TO can help support you, support the veterans in your workplace. Call the VIP line on 01246 959333 to book your place.
The training is free and will open your eyes to the impact of military life and the complexity and obstacles faced by veterans from joining up, basic training through to transitioning to civilian life.
Complete the contact form below for further enquiries.
Here is what those who have had the training say:
The information and insight was so useful and definitely gave us a lot to think about when dealing with veterans.
You can’t connect the dots looking forward: you can only connect them looking backwards. So, you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.
