Tissington Trails Ride
On Wednesday 23rd October 2024 our Veteran Group met at Parsley Hay on the Tissington Trail, it was a misty morning as to be expected as the High Peak has its own climate zone.
A brew was needed to warm us up and then off we head to Ashbourne, a steady pace was set and soon the conversation flowed , the sun started to break through the further south we got and entering Ashbourne we all required the sustenance of another brew (and without a officer involved in map reading proved a breeze finding a location ) although the expectation of the Tunnel Cafe being a the end of said tunnel wasn’t quite true.
The journey back was tougher than expected with a slight incline and also for some who weren’t quite saddle riding fit (Who remembers the 1970s advert – don’t like the look of that saddle).
Humour was kept up to the end of the 45km round route the only issue the café was shut by the time we got back.
