Longshaw Padley Gorge Walk

On Wednesday 23rd April 2025 (St Georges Day) a great group of our StandTo Veterans embarked on a 10km walk in the beautiful Peak District – setting off from Longshaw (National Trust ) a short bimble for a brew to get us going, whilst some got to know each other – the banter and good humour started immediately. Some great support for each other was observed by the team. We walked through the estate and on/over to Surprise View, then on into Lawrence Field Quarry and down to the legendary Grindleford Cafe- ( another brew and sustenance ) priming for the climb out through Padley Gorge and back to Longshaw . (Longshaw House was utilised during WW1 as a rehab centre for injured soldiers returning from the frontline with life changing injuries).
