The VCH provides a safe space dedicated for veterans, their family and friends where they can have a cuppa, a chat and a friendly ear. One to one support and extensive resources will be offered and available, with the chance to talk to a dedicated ex armed forces worker or volunteer on site.
The in reach support can be provided, ranging from pension enquiries, welfare support, housing, signposting or a referral into STDVCS’s specialised outreach support services, such as alcohol, loneliness and isolation-through to recovery support. For further, more specialised  support, we can also put veterans in touch with veteran specific organisations.Â
Veterans face an array of challenges from deployment to resettlement; the risk of injury, being away from loved ones and issues raised while returning from serving, adjustment back into civilian life. Although thousands of veterans need assistance with the issues they may face, many do not receive treatment. If someone is struggling then they should call in at the Veteran Community Hub, this is an accessible space and the kettle is always on.
If you are not in need of any support but miss the camaraderie and the banter, then you can also call in where you can mix with members of the military family, where you can share and swap some stories.
The address is: Veteran Community Hub, 15 Steeplegate, Vicar Lane, Chesterfield , S40 1SA.
