Veterans’ Chatsworth Walk

On Wednesday 13th March our Veterans embarked on a 12.5 km walk through the beautiful grounds of Chatsworth House, the camaraderie flowed between the different services, although the cloud cover was low and the mist was in the air this didn’t dampen spirits. A slight uphill at the start to see the Queen Victorias Jubilee Stone and then onward to the House, walking through the wet meadow (only one slip over) for a well-earned brew at the Garden Centre. (We seemed to slow the Q whilst we ordered 12 drinks – apologies were given).

Following on we ascended the rise towards Russian Cottage and on to Edensor Village, a lunch stop was had before the final push to Baslow with a few old aching lower limbs.
